“I Love You Once, I Love You Not” at KLPac

I LOVE YOU ONCE, I LOVE YOU NOT
A physical theatre performance

The T4YP ensemble are now set to invade the klpac Indicine space with a line of performances running for 2 weeks from the 30th July up to 9th Aug. Consisting of 3 pieces, the young performers of the ensemble are being challenged to participate in experimental theater pieces that would be different from what they have gone through in their previous showcases.

The ensemble has been split into two with one group presenting a piece that has roots in physical theater while the other tackling a performance deeply rooted in mask work traditions. At the end of the 2 weeks, both groups will come back together to take on the challenge of writing, producing, rehearsing and performing sets of 10 minute plays which all will come out of a hectic 24hrs schedule.

SYNOPSIS

“I Love You Once I Love You Not” has roots from themes of love and obsession encountered in Shakespeare’s “Hamlet”. Directed by klpac’s own Helena Foo, the piece will be the T4YP group’s first foray into the realm of physical theater where body movements convey most of the story instead of words. A cross between dance and theater, the piece would challenge the group to try something that they have never experienced before.
